At least six teams have been in contact with Troy Tulowitzki’s agent since he was released by the Blue Jays on Tuesday.
According to Fancred Sports, one of them is the Cubs.
Cubs are one of the teams that has at least been in contact with Tulo, and they will send a scout to a workout. There are others though, so they aren’t necessarily the favorite. His agent told @susanslusser there are 6 teams and they will narrow field soon.
Chicago will be without starting shortstop Addison Russell for the first 40 games of the 2019 season as he was suspended for an incident relating to a domestic-violence allegation made by his ex-wife.
There is reportedly no clear favorite to sign the shortstop.
Tulowitzki was released by the Blue Jays after he had played in a total of 238 games for Toronto in four years after he was acquired from the Rockies in 2015.
The 34-year-old missed all of 2018 after having surgery to remove bone spurs from both of his heels.

When he is 100 percent, Tulowitzki is one of the best hitting shortstops in MLB. When playing at least 120 games he has never hit less than 17 home runs or driven in less than 70 runs. He hit 24 home runs and drove in 79 in 2016.
