That’s according to college basketball expert Jay Bilas, who has been watching Williamson’s progress closely over the past year.
Williamson has been in the public eye for some time now and there was quite a bit of expectation heading into his debut college season with Duke.
And the 18-year-old quickly exceeded all expectations, helping make Duke the No 1 overall seed heading into the NCAA tournament.
Two games into March Madness and his performances have led to Paul Pierce say that he would enter the NBA as a top-50 player right now.
That led to some debate this week as to whether the hype surrounding Williamson’s game is too high.
But Bilas believes the teenage sensation is every bit worth all the build-up.
“There’s never been a player like Zion Williamson on a basketball floor,” Bilas said on ESPN’s First Take.
“Before the season started, I had seen him play in Canada for three games… and I’d seen him a little bit in high school, but you just don’t get the same feel against high school players.
“When I watched him over there, I said you’ll be watching him on SportsCenter every night, he will be the dominant theme in basketball. Period.
“He has been, the NBA has reacted to him. You’ve seen NBA players tweet at him and LeBron’s going to his games. It’s crazy.
“There’s never been anybody of his size, his athleticism, how nimble he is.
“His second jump is better than his first and more explosive, and he’s an extraordinary passer.
“He can play the complete game, he’s a very smart player.”
Williamson is projected to be the No 1 pick in the 2019 NBA draft.
Currently it looks as though one of the New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Cleveland Cavaliers will land the No 1 pick in this year’s draft.
The NBA lottery takes place on May 14th with the draft taking place on June 20.
