Trent Richardson’s NFL days may be in the rearview mirror, but that doesn’t mean he is free to go wild with his celebrations in the AAF.
Richardson scored the first touchdown in Birmingham Iron history on Sunday and proceeded to spike the ball into the stands, prompting a penalty flag from the officials for unsportsmanlike conduct. Fair penalty call? You be the judge.

The running back’s touchdown gave the Iron a 15-0 lead over the Memphis Express in the team’s season-opening game.

The former first-round pick and Heisman Trophy finalist at Alabama is trying to revitalize his career in the AAF after a trio of poor seasons for the Browns and Colts. He last played in the NFL in 2014.
