Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in signing Everton’s Idrissa Gueye, Sky Sports News understands.
Gueye handed in a transfer request in a bid to secure a move to Paris Saint-Germain, Sky Sports News reported earlier on Tuesday, with the 29-year-old having written to club officials pleading with them to allow him to join the French champions.
However, Everton have denied they have received an official transfer request from the Senegal international.
Sky Sports News revealed on Sunday that PSG had bid £21.5m for the midfielder. Everton insist Gueye is not for sale and they are expected to reject the offer.
Gueye has been ruled out of their match against Huddersfield on Tuesday with a minor injury, Everton said.
Elsewhere, Yerry Mina was another absentee from Tuesday night’s game against Huddersfield after he sustained a foot injury during their 3-2 FA Cup loss to Millwall on Saturday.
The Colombian was replaced at half-time after he picked up the knock in the first half.
