Arsenal transfer news: The FOUR players Arsenal must sign now the window is open

Arsenal slipped to a fifth-place finish in the league but still remain in with a shout of making the Champions League next season courtesy of the Europa League final on May 29.

The Gunners take on Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea in Baku as they look to return to Europe’s premier competition, before attentions turn to the summer transfer window.

Arsenal fans are desperate for the club to get at least two new defenders in before the window shuts in August, while Aaron Ramsey is just one of the players that will need replacing further forward.

Express Sport is here to take a look at the four players Arsenal must sign.

Adrien Rabiot

Paris Saint-Germain misfit Rabiot will see his contract run out this summer, with several European clubs interested in securing a deal with the midfielder.

The six-time France international recently turned 24 and will be desperate to return to regular first-team football after being frozen out in Paris.

The box-to-box midfielder will make a ready made replacement for Juventus-bound Ramsey, but will need a full pre-season in order to return to peak fitness.

Nicolas Tagliafico

Ajax left-back Tagliafico has caught the eye of potential suitors after a stunning campaign in the Netherlands.

Their Champions League semi-final heartbreak was softened by a league and cup double, but their joy will be short-lived with multiple players set to depart in the coming weeks.

Argentina international Tagliafico is likely to fancy a move to England, with the former Independendiente defender turning 27 in August.

Eric Bailly

Manchester United defender Bailly started his Old Trafford career impressively but has slipped out of contention this season and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy for him to leave.

The Ivory Coast international has recently turned 25 and has 50 Premier League appearances to his name since joining United in 2016.

He would offer a useful option for Emery defensively, particularly with Laurent Koscielny getting on and Shkodran Mustafi’s poor form.

Yannick Carrasco

Arsenal could attempt another shock move for former Atletico Madrid winger Carrasco, who made a stunning switch to China in 2018.

The Belgian international made headlines when scoring in the Champions League final at the age of 22 in 2016, but his career has stalled since.

The Dalian Yifang forward is reportedly keen to return to European football, and his talent is sure to improve Emery’s attacking options.
