Gary Neville hilariously tries JINXING Liverpool in Tottenham Champions League final

Surprise package Tottenham stand in the Reds’ way on June 1.

The all-Premier League final takes place in just over a fortnight’s time in Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Jurgen Klopp’s team will go into the showdown with Spurs as favourites following their miraculous comeback against Barcelona.

A 4-0 win at Anfield in their semi-final second leg saw Lionel Messi and Co. throwaway their 3-0 lead from the Nou Camp.

Tottenham achieved an equally impressive comeback in Amsterdam as they beat Ajax 3-2 to prevail on away goals.

Following the conclusion of the Premier League season last Sunday, both clubs have three weeks to prepare for the game in Spain.

Tottenham are set to benefit greatly from that break as a number of first-team stars work their way back to full fitness, including Harry Kane.

Neville wants to see Spurs clinch European glory at the expense of Liverpool, who are chasing their sixth title.

In a bid to jinx Liverpool, Neville has already declared them European champions, insisting Tottenham don’t stand a chance of ruining Klopp’s big night.

Twice before the German has managed the Reds in European finals against Sevilla in the Europa League and Real in the Champions League and twice Liverpool have lost.

Whether they will lift their first trophy under Klopp in Madrid remains to be seen.

But it is clear Neville is doing anything and everything he can to ensure fellow pundit Jamie Carragher and all those involved with Liverpool do not enjoy their summers.

Fans have reacted on Twitter to Neville’s post as one Reds supporter said: “Trying Fergie’s “Mind Games” here are we @GNev2 ??? Won’t work! We have too much respect for @SpursOfficial”.

Meanwhile, a Tottenham fan replied: “Piling the pressure on. I like it. Pressure is all on Liverpool. They need a trophy after the season they have had and they are expected to win June 1st.”

A United supporter admitted: “Can’t see them bottling another final after they bottled the 10 point lead and Klopp lost his last 6 finals. In the bag against this lucky Spurs team. 6 Europeans cups is a great achievement, congrats.”

And another Red Devils fan said: “Sarcasm at its very best!”
