Inside Joshua and Ruiz’s training regimes ahead of heavyweight rematch

Five months after he spectacularly lost all his heavyweight belts, Anthony Joshua finally gets the chance to regain them all against Andy Ruiz Jr. in December.

June's scrap with Ruiz ended as Joshua's first ever professional loss – the result came as a shock to almost all.

If Joshua loses to the Mexican again and his career will be in tatters.

Conversely, if Ruiz beats Joshua once more, he can catapult himself right to the pinnacle of the sport.

For both, proper preparation for the rematch is more valuable than ever, and both fighters have given fans an insight into their all-important training camps over the last few months.

While AJ's weight has been pretty consistent in between fights, some have suggested that he may come in leaner against Ruiz in December.

Back in 2015 Joshua weighed in at 245 pounds for his fight v Dillian Whyte, and was only two pounds heavier for the first fight v Ruiz in June.

There may be something in claims that the Brit is slimming slightly, given that he has been spotted performing cardio workouts as well as pads and weights.

Meanwhile, the narrative regarding Ruiz suggests that the Mexican has done little but party since shocking the world and receiving a mega pay day after the first fight.

But, a look at his Instagram posts over the last few weeks suggests he has been working harder than most think.

Ruiz has posted a number of workout clips, as well as examples of his strict diet regime as he prepares the world for another upset.
