  • Daniel Dubois faces the toughest test of his career on Saturday night as he steps into the ring with WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

The undefeated Ukrainian, 36, packs a punch, both between the ropes and financially, having amassed an estimated net worth of £60million over the course of his impressive career.

The vast majority of that sum was earned from his latest fight, the rematch against Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia last year, where he banked around £42m, while £15m of the total was pocketed from their first bout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2021.

Prior to that, his clashes with Derek Chisora in 2020 and Chazz Witherspoon in 2019 earned him seven-figure sums, while his victory over Ton Bellew in 2018 saw him earn around £750,000. Before that, all fight purses were under the £400,000 mark.

Dubois' net worth is miniscule by comparison, despite the fact he and Usyk have competed in exactly the same number of professional fights (20) in their respective careers.

The 25-year-old Brit is understood to have amassed around £5m in earnings so far, having hit the £1m mark for a fight just once (earning £1.75m) during his bout against compatriot Joe Joyce in 2020, which remains the only defeat of his career to date.

He first earned a six-figure sum after beating Richard Lartey to win the vacant WBO Global heavyweight title in April 2019 and earned successively higher fees in each of his next four fights, ranging between £100,000 and £500,000.

In the three years since his clash with Joyce he has raked in a further £1.8m across four more fights. The Londoner is set to pocket £1.6m for Saturday's fight, while Usyk is set to earn a whopping £4.9m.
