Queensland Police say investigations are ongoing into an incident in which Victorian trainer Tony Vasil was allegedly involved in a physical confrontation with a grandmother at a Gold Coast hotel.
Vasil was captured on CCTV footage during the alleged incident which occurred during the Gold Coast Magic Millions carnival in January.
News Limited has previously reported the footage appears to show Vasil allegedly making contact with a woman as she passes him, and then her reacting with a slap on the face to Vasil.
Vasil then appears to make contact with the grandmother, as well as her daughter.
A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed to Racenet a complaint had been made and the matter was still being investigated.
“A complaint was received and at this time investigations are still ongoing,” the Queensland Police spokesperson said.
Vasil was banned from racing for a time for his role in the Aquanita doping scandal and Racing Victoria announced recently they would aim to recover trainer prizemoney percentage won by trainers of disqualified starters in the Aquanita affair.
