4. Grandview (1-0) won vs. Overland, 48-6: QB Liam Szarka completed 11 of 14 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns, sophomore Chris Blanks ran for 100 yards on seven carries and junior Donavon Vernon added 83 yards on eight carries as the Wolves rolled. 2. Palmer Ridge (1-0) won vs. No. 7 Montrose, 28-27: The Bears rallied from 12 points down at halftime, as QB Derek Hester ran for three touchdowns and threw for another in the comeback win. The latter, a hookup with Jimmer Weir, put the Bears ahead for good in the fourth. Weir had six catches for 107 yards. Next week: at No. 9 Mesa Ridge, 7 p.m. Aug. 31

3. Broomfield (1-0) won at Longmont, 42-14: Colin Torres ran for 188 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries, and CT Worley had 145 yards on 12-of-19 passing in his first varsity start under center as the defending 4A champions ran their win streak to 15 games.
