Brooklyn Nets forward Rodions Kurucs arrested in alleged domestic violence incident

The Brooklyn Nets have acknowledged a police investigation into allegations of domestic violence against forward Rodions Kurucs.

The New York Daily News reported that Kurucs, 21, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with attacking his then-girlfriend during a June 27 argument at his Brooklyn apartment in which he allegedly slapped and choked her.

The 6-9, 210-pound forward was released without bail on Tuesday after his arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

"The Nets organization takes allegations of this nature with extreme seriousness," the team said in a statement tweeted by Newsday reporter Laura Albanese. "While the investigation is underway and as we continue to learn more, we will refrain from commenting further."
