The Los Angeles Chargers are trading cornerback J.C. Jackson to the New England Patriots for a swap of late-round picks in 2025, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per sources.
Jackson will reunite with his former team in New England.
Jackson signed with Los Angeles in 2022 and started in just seven games, recording one interception.
The move comes as Patriots rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez is likely to miss the rest of the 2023 season with a torn labrum from a dislocated shoulder in Sunday’s game against Dallas, Rapoport reported.
Gonzalez, the 17th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, won Defensive Rookie of the Month for September.
Around the NFL will have more on Jackson and Gonzalez shortly.
