Toronto ended its season Friday with a 24-9 loss at Ottawa, and Trestman was released of his duties the following day.

The move comes just one season after Trestman led the Argonauts to their 17th Grey Cup title. He finished his tenure with a record of 15-23 over two seasons with Toronto.

Prior to his time with the Argonauts, Trestman served as a head coach both in the NFL and CFL. He spent time with CFL’s Montreal Alouettes, leading them to two Grey Cup titles in his five seasons.

Trestman, 62, also coached the Bears, posting a 13-19 record in his two seasons (2013-14) in Chicago.
