NBA Finals DraftKings Picks: NBA DFS lineup advice for Game 3 Lakers-Heat Showdown tournaments

The Heat are in a big hole heading into Game 3 against the Lakers down 2-0 in the NBA Finals, and the Heat are still dealing with injuries to Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo. Their replacements, Kendrick Nunn and Kelly Olynyk, were both encouraging in Game 2 and make it into our DraftKings Showdown lineup.

After playing LeBron James as an expensive captain last game, we go back to a value captain to allow us to re-insert Jimmy Butler into our lineup. He’ll have to do everything if those two doubtful players again miss out on action.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Lakers vs. Heat Game 3

Captain (1.5x price, 1.5x points): Kendrick Nunn, Heat ($6,600)

This hinges on Goran Dragic’s continued absence due to a foot injury, but he’s listed as doubtful for Game 3. Nunn has topped 20 DK points in both of the first two games of this series as Dragic’s injury has reintroduced the microwave scorer back into the rotation. Nunn should continue that production while his still depressed price allows us to pay up elsewhere.

FLEX: LeBron James, Lakers ($13,000)

Both James and Anthony Davis are too good and too dominant in this particular matchup to even consider fading them. AD’s two huge games might make him the preferred pay-up captain choice if you go that route, but James’ constant pursuit of triple-doubles makes him just as worthy due to the DK double-double and triple-double bonuses.

FLEX: Anthony Davis, Lakers ($12,000)

Davis has scored the second-most points in Lakers’ history through two games of an NBA Finals, trailing only Shaquille O’Neal. That’s dominance. Bam Adebayo is doubtful again, so Davis will get to pick on Kelly Olynyk and Meyers Leonard once again.

FLEX: Jimmy Butler, Heat ($9,800)

Butler suggested in his Game 2 post-game press conference that he could play 48 minutes tonight. He already played 45 in the last game and went for 25 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists as the Heat counted on him to do everything with Dragic and Adebayo out. He’ll have to fill that same do-it-all role again in this one.

FLEX: Duncan Robinson, Heat ($5,200)

You can’t get me away from the Robinson well, and the first two games of this series have showed that risk — if he doesn’t shoot it, he doesn’t do much. But he has Erik Spoelstra on the sidelines cursing at him to let it fly, and one of these games he’s bound to get hot. His price has dropped for back-to-back games, and it’s too cheap now for his upside.

FLEX: Kelly Olynyk, Heat ($3,200)

The Heat started Leonard at center with Adebayo out, but Olynyk got the bulk of the minutes there. He’s a remarkably gifted offensive played who the Heat will rely on for supplementary scoring after he dropped 24 points in Game 2 (his price only rose by $200 after that outing). He’s a popular but necessary cheap play here.
