Demaryius Thomas is on his way out of Denver, though he may be back in just a few days.
The Broncos traded to the receiver to the Texans along with a seventh-round pick in the 2019 draft for Houston’s fourth- and seventh-round picks, the teams announced Tuesday.

“Demaryius had an incredible run here and we can’t thank him enough for everything he’s meant to the Broncos,” general manager John Elway said in a release. “He developed into an elite player over the years, establishing himself as one NFL’s most productive, consistent and reliable wide receivers. D.T. was a big part of so many wins and memorable moments as a Bronco. Although it’s tough to end this chapter, we’re excited about the talent we have at the wide receiver position and wish Demaryius all the best with the Texans.”
Thomas acknowledged the trade rumors that have involved him in recent weeks and guessed he had a “50-50” chance of being dealt before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET trade deadline despite wanting to remain with the Broncos.
Before the trade had even been announced, Broncos linebacker Von Miller and running back CJ Anderson lamented the loss of their teammate in Twitter posts.
