The Chiefs have asked the NFL to launch an inquiry with the NFL Players Association after a union rep conducted an in-person meeting with all Kansas City players late last month, a source told ESPN.
The rep allegedly was unmasked while meeting and mingling with the players in close proximity, the source said.
The concern among the Chiefs is that it was a violation of NFL-NFLPA protocols regarding COVID-19, and that the rep is not subject to the same testing as players and personnel and regularly travels among clubs, the source said.
Both the NFL and the Chiefs believe what happened created an unnecessary risk of exposure of the virus to players and staff.
