Avalanche already missing two injured players; Francouz and Burakovsky out Tuesday – The Denver Post

Avalanche goalie Pavel Francouz and winger Andre Burakovsky suffered injuries in practice Monday and will not be in Tuesday’s lineup at the Los Angeles Kings, coach Jared Bednar said.

Hunter Miska is scheduled to back up starter Philipp Grubauer in net and Joonas Donskoi will move up to the second line and serve as the right winger in place of Burakovsky.

Bednar said he plans on going with just 11 forwards and an extra defenseman, with alternate captain Erik Johnson as the seventh. Johnson has had just two full practices with the team after missing all of training camp and the first two regular-season games with a positive COVID-19 test.

Colorado’s first road game of the season begins at 8 p.m. from the Staples Center.
