Sergio Perez showed class after losing his podium to Fernando Alonso following a captivating battle on the final lap of the Brazilian Grand Prix. The two drivers later embraced in the media pen.
The two drivers were separated by less than a second for almost half of the race with Alonso defending valiantly from the Red Bull driver who had much faster machinery underneath him.
With just a couple of laps remaining it looked as though Alonso had seen off the threat of Checo, but heading onto the penultimate lap the Mexican managed to squeeze by into Turn 1.
That wasn’t where the battle ended though. Alonso set up a fake at the same place on the final lap, taking a wider line into the Senna ‘S’ and getting a better run out of the Curva do Sol.
