6 Liverpool stars could be put up for sale by Jurgen Klopp in transfer window

Liverpool could raise substantial funds for incoming signings this summer in a bid to win back the Premier League title by putting six fringe stars on their transfer list.

Jurgen Klopp and his team failed to build on their title-winning season of 2019/20 and look set to miss out on Champions League qualification following Leicester's win over Manchester United.

Although FSG might have put forward more funds following the recent protests in a bid to keep supporters on side, the likely failure to reach the top four will have financial ramifications.

Daily Star Sport have outlined six fringe players who could leave in order to boost their incoming budget, including one of their Champions League heroes from 2018/19.

Divock Origi

Divock Origi could leave Anfield this summer having managed just one goal across 17 outings in all competitions under Klopp so far this season.

The Champions League hero from 2018/19 may have scored the crucial second goal in the final, but he is no longer getting regular minutes from the bench as he did in the past.

With his contract running until the summer of 2024, Liverpool should be able to make back the £10m that they paid for his services way back in 2014.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Xherdan Shaqiri has slipped even further down the pecking order at Anfield following the arrival of Diogo Jota, with the return of Harvey Elliot this summer set to be more bad news.

The 29-year-old has managed seven goals across only 44 Premier League appearances since joining from relegated Stoke back in 2018, scoring once in 21 outings this season.

With his contract running until 2023 Liverpool are in a strong position, and it is likely that plenty of clubs will be interest in snapping him up should he be made available.

Loris Karius has not had the impact he would've hoped for when joining Liverpool from Mainz 05 back in 2016, making 49 appearances across two seasons and struggling in the Champions League final.

The 27-year-old is currently on loan at Union Berlin after spending two seasons with Besiktas, and has one year left on his Liverpool deal.

Despite his struggles, there could be interest in the Bundesliga where he has impressed in the past.

    Harry Wilson

Harry Wilson was once tipped for big things of Liverpool, but could now leave the club after a fifth loan deal away from Anfield across just six seasons.

The Wales international has managed seven goals in each of his last two seasons with Bournemouth in the Premier League, and now Cardiff in the Championship – where he has added 12 assists.

The 24-year-old, who is under contract until 2023, is certain to gain interest from second tier sides aiming for promotion and possibly even mid-table Premier League outfits.

    Marko Grujic

Marco Grujic could finally leave Liverpool this summer after four loan deals away from the club since he was signed from Red Star Belgrade way back in 2016.

Although Klopp had plans for the Serbian following his first loan deal away, he could now leave Anfield for good despite his contract running until the summer of 2023.

The 25-year-old could remain in Portugal with Porto, or even return to the Bundesliga where he spent two seasons with Hertha BSC between 2018 and 2020.

    Sheyi Ojo

Sheyi Ojo is another player who might not have done enough to earn a first-team place at Liverpool next season, despite showing glimpses of his talent with Cardiff this season.

The 23-year-old has been sent on loans to Wigan, Wolves, Fulham, Reims and Rangers ahead of the current campaign, having been on the books at Anfield since 2011.

Despite his contract running until 2023, Liverpool could cash in this summer.
