Ajax sporting director Sven Mislintat has reportedly shocked the players by ‘storming into the dressing room to discuss the dismissal of head coach Maurice Steijn’.
This comes after the Dutch side have struggled of late and are winless in four matches.
Their latest result saw ten-man Ajax draw 3-3 with Marseille in the Europa League group stage, having lost to FC Twente last weekend.
The pressure is on head coach Steijn, with the latest reports even more troubling for his future.
As reported by Dutch news outlet De Telegraaf, Mislintat stormed into the dressing room on Saturday and ‘talked about D-day and the possible dismissal of Steijn’.

The head coach was not said to be present during the time of Mislintat’s warning, with ‘several people confirming’ the story.
The report continues to state that there was not just anger around the staff involved but they were also surprised.
On Wednesday, Pier Eringa, the supervisort board chairman told staff that Mislintat would ‘operate from the shadows and no longer be present at matches’.
However, he since stormed the training room, it is reported, and appeared to be ‘very threatening’.
The director is also currently under external investigation for ‘conflicts of interest in transfers’.
De Telegraaf finalise by stating that the majority of those at Ajax ‘wanted Mislintat to be suspended pending the investigation’.
A poor result against Feyenoord on Saturday could see either Mislintat or Steijn leave their roles at the club as the toxicity reaches an all-time high at Ajax.
The Dutch giants sit 13th in the Eredevisie and will be without captain Steven Bergwijn, who is struggling with an infected wisdom tooth.
De Telegraaf filaise by saying that despite Mislintat’s involvement not making life easy for Steijn, he still has support of fans and management at the club.
