The Brazilian has endured a difficult season on and off the pitch – his father died in February after he drowned in a lake near his holiday home in Lavras do Sul, Brazil.

But he looks to be back to his best after a number of important saves on Saturday night as the Reds look to nick a Champions League place.

They are currently six points off fourth-placed Leicester City, with a game in hand on the Foxes.

The news comes on the same day that Alisson’s team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain announced he is expecting his first child with long-term girlfriend and Little Mix star Perrie Edwards.
