- Former team-mate Amad Diallo appeared to publicly support the 21-year-old
Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has appeared to show his public support for Mason Greenwood after the striker made his debut for LaLiga outfit Getafe on Saturday.
Greenwood was shipped out on loan to the Spanish side after it was mutually agreed he would play no further role at Old Trafford after criminal allegations against him were dropped.
His move has been widely criticised but the Englishman has been well-supported by Getafe and their fans, who hailed his arrival.
The 21-year-old forward was made to wait before making his debut as he attempted to rebuild match fitness levels, with his last club appearance coming in January 2022.
Greenwood made his LaLiga introduction in the 77th-minute of Getafe’s 3-2 win over Osasuna on Saturday and was well-supported by the home crowd with many wearing shirts bearing his name.

He has also been given a show of support by his former United team-mate Diallo who took to social media to demonstrate his delight at Greenwood being back on the pitch.
Diallo watched along on TV and posted a picture of Greenwood warming up in the dugout on his Instagram story and captioned it with two heart emojis.

The Ivory Coast star spent last season on loan at Sunderland and was named the club’s young player of the year but is currently side-lined through injury.
Diallo joined United in a £37million move from Atalanta two years ago but has struggled to force his way into the first-team, making just nine competitive appearances.
He made his debut in a 4-0 win over Real Sociedad in a Europa League clash when he replaced Greenwood in the 83rd minute.
His public display of support for the exiled United star was the only recognition from any of Greenwood’s former team-mates, who have so far remained tight-lipped on the situation.
