Superstitions have a very special place in football fandom. Whether it’s a pair of lucky socks, or refusing to leave the room until your team score.
And Arsenal fans have spotted their own good luck charm which has been bringing them success in recent months.
The Gunners face Liverpool on Saturday night, looking to close the gap on the Premier League’s top six.
For the clash with the champions, Mikel Arteta has conceded that his side could be without Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, both of whom picked up injuries on international duty.
“He hasn't trained with the team yet,” Arteta explained. “He's been doing some individual work. We had to pull him out of the England squad, unfortunately. But he's feeling better, but he hasn't trained with the team yet.”
As for Smith Rowe, the Arsenal boss said: “He has some discomfort in his hip and that's why they decided to keep him out.
“ I don't know – we will see today how he comes here, we will speak with the doctors and the physios and see if he is available for training tomorrow.”
But one player who definitely will be in the line-up is Scotland’s Kieran Tierney. The left-back registered three assists during his nation’s 4-0 win in midweek, taking his brilliant club form onto the international stage.
And eagle-eyed Arsenal fans have spotted Tierney sporting a hand bandage, in what has become somewhat of a good luck charm.
Nicolas Pepe regularly has a bandage on his hand, while Alexandre Lacazette netted a vital brace with strapping on his hands.
After spotting Tierney doing his best Pepe tribute, many think he could be in for a starring role against Liverpool.

“I don’t know who is responsible for hand bandage at the club but make him the first assistant,” one fan joked.
While another said: “Got his 3 assists for Scotland wearing this as well, petition for the whole Arsenal squad to start wearing bandages on their hand.”
“Hand Bandage FC,” a third posted, before a fourth simply concluded: “Pepe effect.”
And another predicted: “Tierney masterclass coming up against Liverpool.”
