Arsenal legend David Seaman makes prediction for North London derby vs Tottenham

David Seaman backed Arsenal to "nick" a victory in the North London derby as he made a scoreline prediction for the clash with Tottenham.

The Gunners legend believes his former side – currently 14th in the table – can upset the form book to overcome Premier League-leaders Tottenham.

But Seaman also warned Arsenal over Spurs' potent frontline of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale.

Striker Kane has a remarkable tally of 16 goals and assists in 10 league games, while winger Son is the second-top scorer in the division with nine goals.

Spurs' defence has also earned plaudits, as they have conceded the fewest goals in the league and have registered three consecutive clean sheets.

Jose Mourinho's side have also beaten Manchester City and drawn away to Chelsea in their most-recent fixtures.

As such, they enter Sunday's derby as firm favourites – but Seaman insists Arsenal can pick up their first win away win over Tottenham since 2014.

"The game with Spurs is going to be tough," Seaman told the Target Men Podcast . "I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet, but I do think we can nick a 2-1 win.

"They’re a good unit and they’ve got a great mix of players, especially with their strike force in Kane and Son and now with Bale there as well, it’s going to be a tough ask for an Arsenal team going there with no confidence.

"But with Arsenal, you don’t know what you’re going to get and all I can think of is going to Man United and beating them 1-0 again."

Spurs' hopes of continuing their fine form will receive a huge blow if Kane is ruled out of the North London derby.

The 27-year-old has missed training this week through injury and Mourinho is sweating on his fitness, along with that of star left-back Sergio Reguilon.

Arsenal may hope their nemesis Kane misses out, as the Englishman has plundered 10 goals in 11 league games against the Gunners.
