Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is ready to welcome two new stars to his first-team squad as the Gunners eye a return to Champions League football with a top four finish in the Premier League.
The Spaniard spoke openly about his personal failings following their Europa League exit back in May, but also called on the owners to fund incoming deals this summer.
That looks to have made all the difference with Nuno Tavares ready to be joined by both Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White this week as preparations continue.
Daily Star Sport have looked at three of the latest updates regarding both incoming and outgoing deals, with the future of longest serving player Hector Bellerin still uncertain.
Albert Sambi Lokonga chooses number
Albert Lokonga looks set to take an unusual shirt number when joining Arsenal from Anderlecht this summer as Arteta eyes a midfield overhaul at the Emirates.
The 21-year-old has made 69 senior appearances for the club since his debut at the age of 18 back in 2017, and has also played for three different Belgium youth sides.
According to Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad, the decision was based on Lokonga's hometown of Verviers, and it's postcode of 4800, and that is said to be his inspiration for wearing 48.
Reiss Nelson hints at exit
Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson has been linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer after failing to make an impact under Arteta – and he could be on his way to Brighton.
With his current contract running until 2023 but getting regular minutes unlikely, a loan to another Premier League side could be just what he needs to reach the next level.
In what could be a hint at where he might end up, Nelson liked an Instagram post from a Brighton fan page that suggested he could be on his way to play under Graham Potter
Hector Bellerin issue
According to Corriere dello Sport, Bellerin wants to leave north London after ten years at the club, with links to Serie A champions Inter Milan ongoing.
However, they report that the Gunners are 'not prepared' to give in to the current terms on the table, despite Inter being the favourites to secure his signature.
The 26-year-old is under contract until the summer of 2023, and has made a total of 239 appearances for the club in all competitions winning the FA Cup in 2015, 2017 and 2020.
