Arsenal are expected to conduct plenty more business before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
The Gunners have had a steady summer of transfers up to now, securing defender Ben White from Brighton & Hove Albion alongside youngsters Albert Sambi lokonga and Nuno Tavares for a combined £75million.
But Mikel Arteta is still trying to strengthen several other areas before the window closes, notably the right-back, central-midfield and attacking-midfield positions.
The Express reports Arsenal have listed six players on the transfer list in order to generate the funds required to bring in their targets and complete the squad revamp.
Arteta and Edu are still eager to sell Hector Bellerin this summer with the Spaniard being heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan, who are in search of a replacement for Achraf Hakimi.
Also on the list is defender Sead Kolasinac who looks to have been replaced by the incoming Tavares due to poor performances over recent seasons.
The club is likewise looking to flog the much-criticised Willian despite the ex-Chelsea man signing a three-year contract only last summer.
While not necessarily ‘deadwood’, Arsenal may also look to raise funds by selling several Hale End Academy graduates such as Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who has been linked with a Leicester City move.
Do you think Arsenal will finish in the top-six next season if they sign Odegaard or Maddison? Let us know in the comments section.
Completing the list is striker Eddie Nketiah who only has 12 months left on his contract and could be sold if the right offer comes along.
The North Londoners were always destined for a hectic window after failing to qualify for European football for the first time since 1995 but have plenty more to do as the 2-1 friendly loss to Chelsea demonstrated on Sunday.
Martin Odegaard is Arteta’s top transfer target this summer with the manager being impressed by his play-making capabilities during his loan spell last season.
Football.london reports the Gunners are still hopeful of coming to an agreement with Real Madrid for the midfielder despite mixed messages surrounding his future.
Leicester’s James Maddison is also a target though Arsenal would likely need to sell several of the above players to match the Foxes’ rumoured £60million valuation.
More recently, the Athletic have claimed Arsenal are interested in signing the highly-rated Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan.
The Gunners will need to find buyers for Alexandre Lacazette and Nketiah in order to free up wages and space up-front if they want to sign the Argentine forward.
