Arthur Melo has reportedly agreed to link up with Arsenal on a six-month loan deal – but the Gunners are still a long way off of striking a deal with Juventus for the midfield maestro.
Mikel Arteta is currently facing a selection crisis in midfield with a host of names currently unavailable to feature for the Londoners.
And the Spaniard has been dealt a further blow with Granit Xhaka now set to be missing for three matches following his red card in Thursday night’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.

The Gunners have highlighted Arthur as their first-choice target to bolster their squad on a loan deal until the end of the season – and it appears as though the midfielder is keen on making a temporary switch to the Emirates.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, the Brazilian midfielder has ‘agreed’ to the move and is ‘convinced’ of the prospect of playing for the Gunners in the Premier League.
However, the report goes on to outline that there is still some way to go when it comes to the two clubs agreeing on a deal.
Arsenal have reportedly proposed a straight loan deal; something that Juventus are not keen on.

The Italian giants remain ‘convinced’ of Arthur’s quality and would be happy to retain him at the club if the move to Arsenal fails to materialise, so it’s unlikely that they will buckle and change their stance with the offer that’s currently on the table.
However, it’s anticipated that Arsenal could test that stance if they were to insert an obligation to buy the midfielder into their current proposal.
Arthur hasn’t exactly been a regular at the Allianz Arena since he arrived from Barcelona in 2020.
The 25-year-old made 22 Serie A appearances last season but has struggled to feature on a regular basis this season, where he’s started just three times in the league and made seven appearances overall.

According to a new report from Goal, Arthur is set for a crunch meeting with Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri on Friday to try and push the move to Arsenal through.
Arthur is desperate to play regularly this season ahead of the World Cup that’s due to take place in Qatar later this year.
The midfielder was left out of the national team by Brazil boss Tite on Thursday and Arthur is keen to ensure he muscles his way back into contention before the tournament kicks off in November.
