Arturo Vidal hits out at Erik ten Hag and says ‘bald guys are complicated’

Arturo Vidal has bizarrely lashed out at the bald head of Erik ten Hag while slamming the Manchester United boss.

Vidal, who is best known for his spells with Juventus, Bayern Munich and Barcelona, gave his thoughts on the former Ajax boss online. The 36-year-old who joined Athletico Paranaense from Flamengo in the summer, was particularly critical of the treatment of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Vidal said of Ten Hag's arrival at United during a live stream: "That coach came in badly. How are you going to take out Cristiano Ronaldo?" He then added: "That's how these guys are. He was the top scorer and he takes him out. The bald guys are very complicated."

Vidal's stance over bald bosses might well have stemmed from his time at Flamengo under his former Chile boss Jorge Sampaoli, whom the midfielder described as a loser on his departure.

Ten Hag was snapped with hair during his playing days back in 1996 – but had shaved his head long before his coaching career began in 2011. Somewhat ironically, Vidal chooses to shave large chunks of his head completely bald while leaving a thin mohican which he dyes blonde.

Ten Hag decided to drop Ronaldo to the bench on his arrival at Old Trafford before agreeing that the veteran former Real Madrid man could scrap his contract and join Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

Vidal played 171 times for Juventus between 2011 and 2015 but missed out on counting Ronaldo as a team-mate. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner joined The Old Lady in 2018 and won two Serie A titles across three seasons scoring 101 goals in 134 matches.

Thankfully for Vidal, his current caretaker boss Wesley Carvalho at Paranaense has a full head of hair, as does Chile manager Eduardo Berizzo.

Vidal might well have crossed paths with Ten Hag had he agreed a move to United back in 2019 after being earmarked for a deal by Ed Woodward. Ten Hag's United secured a much needed win over Burnley in a boost for the Dutchman after losses to Arsenal, Brighton and Bayern Munich.
