Atletico Madrid are lining up a January move for out-of-favour Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, according to reports in Spain.
Diego Simeone’s side are desperate for some added attacking thrust and could to look to reinforce their front line next month.
Giroud has been identified as a possibility, having fallen down the pecking order under Frank Lampard.

The French international has played only seven times this season and his Euro 2020 place could be under threat if he doesn’t get regular action.
He is being considered as an alternative to PSG striker Edinson Cavani, according to Diario AS.
The Ligue 1 champions are believed to be unwilling to sanction a deal in January, leading Atleti to target Giroud.
They maintain good relations with Chelsea having done deals for Thibaut Courtois, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis over the years, while Alvaro Morata has been able to revive his career back in Spain.
The 33-year-old Giroud has only scored five goals in 45 Premier League appearances for the Blues but was prolific in last year’s Europa League.
