Barcelona have reacted to talk of Neymar potentially returning to the Nou Camp. And they’ve now fuelled talk the PSG star could return to the Nou Camp in the future. The Brazil international is supposedly keen to move back to Catalonia in order to play alongside Lionel Messi again.
Barcelona lost Neymar to PSG back in the summer transfer window of 2017.
The forward decided to leave the Nou Camp having grown tired of being in Messi’s shadow and was determined to be the main man elsewhere.
Ever since then, however, Neymar has continued to be linked with a move back to Barcelona.
Reports have suggested the 29-year-old is keen to return to Catalonia to play alongside Messi, who he believes will stay at the club.
And, now, Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona have reacted to talk of Neymar returning by saying: “Neymar now? He is free in a year.”

Neymar’s contract with PSG is due to expire in 2022.
And it seems as though Barcelona would prefer to save their cash and wait until then in order to bring the forward back to the club.
It was previously suggested Neymar would sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes.
But negotiations over an extension have now halted, with the Brazil international examining his options ahead of the summer transfer window.
Barcelona aren’t the only club keen on Neymar, either.

It’s recently emerged that Manchester United have the Samba star under consideration because of his situation in France, with the player long admired by Ed Woodward.
Yet Barcelona appear to be in pole position to sign Neymar and this saga looks like it will rumble on until there’s a definitive outcome to things.
Meanwhile, speaking last year, Messi expressed a belief that Neymar regretted leaving Barcelona behind and would love to return.
“It bothered me at the time [when Neymar left] and we tried to convince him not to do it,” he said.
“But we all want to win and have the best players around us.
“He’s one of the best players in the world and he brought a lot to the team. But it’s understandable that people would see it as leaving in a bad way.”
“He is desperate to return and has always appeared to regret his decision.
“He did a lot to come back and that would be the first step in making it happen. He was always fine at Barca, performing at a very high level. He’s a different type of player who is difficult to stop one-on-one and score goals.”
Joan Laporta was recently appointed as Barcelona’s new president.
But, when quizzed on Neymar back in December, he refused to open up on the possibility of re-signing the forward.
“I will not talk about this or that player during the campaign, because it can destabilise the team,” he said.
“They are attentive to all the stories that come out.
“I don’t want someone from inside (Barça) to tell me that I have destabilised the club, if I win.”
Meanwhile, Barcelona are in La Liga action against Real Valladolid tonight (8pm).
And victory will see them move to within a point of Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.
