Serbian police are now working to identify the suspects involved in the attack.

Red Star Belgrade and Man City will meet on Wednesday night in their final Champions League group stage match.

The fixture will have no impact on their final positions in the group.

Man City have already qualified from Group G after winning all five of their matches, including a 3-1 home win over Red Star in September.

The Serbian side, who were European champions in 1991, will finish bottom of the group regardless of the result.

Man City supporters attending the match will be transferred to and from the Rajko Mitic Stadium by coaches.

The club have advised fans to use the coaches and said police have advised supporters to avoid displaying the club’s colours or branded items.

‘We have arranged coaches leaving Student Square at 3:30PM (local time) to safely transport all our fans to and from the Rajko Mitic Stadium.
