Chelsea included both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham in their latest offer for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, according to reports. However, Dortmund’s stance on the players Chelsea are offering in return in a cash-plus-player bid is now clear.

Chelsea have reportedly made Haaland their primary target on the back of winning a second Champions League.

Thomas Tuchel will want backing in his first transfer window in charge, and the Blues are pursuing one of Europe’s hottest properties in the striker.

Chelsea are also looking to offload players this summer, with Abraham thought to be in the shop window.

Recent reports coming out of Germany have claimed the striker was included in a recent offer for Haaland from Stamford Bridge.

However, the latest information has seemingly ruled out that possibility.

According to The Athletic, Hudson-Odoi wasn’t included in a bid for Haaland, and Dortmund have made their stance on Abraham apparent.

The Bundesliga giants have ‘no interest’ in signing Abraham, which could rule out a swap deal in Chelsea’s pursuit of Haaland.

It would likely cost a stunning fee to lure the 20-year-old striker away from Dortmund this summer.

It could prove far too difficult to finance a move this summer with a swap deal off the cards.

However, the current transfer window could be Chelsea’s final chance to have a free run at Haaland.

His £65million release clause is triggered next summer, and there will undoubtedly be mass interest in his services from all over Europe.

As for Abraham, even if he’s not involved in a swap deal, his departure must be considered likely.

Even after Olivier Giroud’s exit, the 23-year-old doesn’t seem to be a part of Tuchel’s plans, and Chelsea will seek a fee from suitors.

Speaking on Reach PLC’s Transfer Window podcast, Ian McGarry claimed Tuchel has already informed Abraham that minutes will be limited this season.

He said: “Abraham has had a conversation with Thomas Tuchel regarding his future at the club.

“Tuchel has been less than reassuring with regards to his chances of game time over the coming season.

“That being the case, obviously Abraham has a decision to make.”

Abraham’s future will likely be resolved in the next month, with the 2021/22 season growing ever closer.
