Chelsea could have another busy summer under the guidance of Marina Granovskaia in 2021.
Frank Lampard may have been able to add Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz to his playing squad among others of late – but he might still feel like his side aren’t yet ready to challenge.
The Blues boss is yet to decide on his first-choice defence, which might need looking at in the market should loanee Malang Sarr fail to impress at Porto.
Another area could be the midfield, with the club said to have been interested in West Ham star Declan Rice towards the end of the recent window with a question mark looming over Jorginho.
Football.London have reported that Chelsea could indeed dip in the market next summer to strengthen the aforementioned positions, with director Granovskaia ready to again pull the strings.
Thiago Silva is a short-term solution at the back and the future of Antonio Rudiger up in the air after he fell out of favour following his return from injury.
That could push the club to move for 21-year-old Dayot Upamecano, who had been a target of Manchester United thanks to his displays for RB Leipzig.
Chelsea could also reignite their interest in former youth player Rice, while also monitoring the progress of the versatile Ethan Ampadu during his loan at Sheffield United.
Lampard said of his new look side in September: "The players played in different leagues in European football.
"The Premier League is very different in its physical nature and the speed of it.
"My job is to make them comfortable and get the best out of them as soon as I can.
"I'm confident we will do that, but we must be a little bit patient because sometimes even the greatest talents can take a little bit of time with the Premier League.

Before adding: "My plan is to integrate [the new signings] into the team as quickly as we can.
