Cristiano Ronaldo has scored his 400th goal since turning 30 in a 2-0 win for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

The Portuguese Ballon d’Or winner netted a stunning opening strike in his side’s victory over Al Khaleej on Saturday.

The 38-year-old picked up the ball on the edge of the penalty area in the 26th minute and turned his marker, who was left on the floor after the Portugal forward then faked to shoot.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star took a touch to set himself before firing the ball into the roof of the net from just outside the penalty arc.

Spanish defender Aymeric Laporte added a second goal in the 58th minute to secure victory, which puts Al Nassr four points behind league leaders Al Hilal.

Ronaldo’s strike was his 12th league goal this season, which puts him top of the standings ahead of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who joined Al Hilal from Fulham during August.

Al Nassr had earlier seen a goal from Sadio Mane disallowed following a VAR check for offside.

Last week, Ronaldo was seen demanding for a referee to be substituted during Al-Nassr’s 1-0 win over Al-Ettifaq in the King Cup of Champions quarter-finals.

Ronaldo had been angered by the performance of the referee in the closing stages of the first half of the match. He avoided a second yellow, however.

The result takes Al-Nassr into the last eight of the cup competition, which features teams from the top two tiers in Saudi Arabia.
