David Prutton’s Sky Bet EFL predictions

David Prutton returns with his Sky Bet EFL predictions ahead of the midweek fixtures, but who is he tipping for victory?

Norwich vs Aston Villa, Tuesday 7.45pm – Live on Sky Sports Football

Norwich got back to winning ways at the weekend with a late victory at Nottingham Forest, although I’m not too sure many people would have backed Timm Klose to score twice in that game!

Dean Smith, meanwhile, got off to a perfect start with Aston Villa as they narrowly defeated Swansea. This is a tough trip for them, though, and I feel like Norwich will take the three points.

Prutton predicts: 2-1 (17/2 with Sky Bet)

Sheffield United vs Stoke, Tuesday 7.45pm

It must have been so frustrating for Chris Wilder against Derby on Saturday evening to see his gameplan fly out of the window so quickly, although it shouldn’t affect them too much as Sheffield United tend not to dwell on defeats for too long.

Gary Rowett will know Stoke are still at a stage where a few wins on the spin will see them fly up the table and into the top six, but I can’t see that happening at Bramall Lane. Home win for me.

Prutton predicts: 2-0 (17/2 with Sky Bet)

Swansea vs Blackburn, Tuesday 7.45pm

Swansea are struggling a little bit at the moment. They’ve lost their last two, have just one win in their last seven and don’t look like scoring goals a lot of the time.

Blackburn were excellent against Leeds on Saturday and the victory also meant they claimed back-to-back wins for the first time in the Championship this season. I fancy Rovers to leave the Liberty with all three points.

Prutton predicts: 1-3 (33/1 with Sky Bet)

Leeds vs Ipswich, Wednesday 7.45pm

Leeds seem to have hit a little bit of a bump in the road and aren’t quite playing with the same intensity as they were at the start of the season, even with Kemar Roofe back they still lost at Blackburn on Saturday.

This should be a straightforward victory at Elland Road for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, because Ipswich don’t look good enough right now. They were so poor against QPR. Home win.

Prutton predicts: 2-0 (11/2 with Sky Bet)

Preston vs Brentford, Wednesday 7.45pm

That was a big result for Preston at the weekend, grabbing a point right at the death against Hull to just keep themselves out of the relegation zone.

A couple of weeks ago you would fancy Brentford in this one but they’ve been forced into a managerial change and Thomas Frank losing his first game has seen them drop into mid-table. I feel like this will be a draw.

Prutton predicts: 1-1 (11/2 with Sky Bet)

West Brom vs Derby, Wednesday 8pm – Live on Sky Sports Football

While I have been impressed with Wigan this season I must admit I was a little surprised to see them beat West Brom, and keep them from scoring as well! Only Middlesbrough had done that to Darren Moore’s side before Saturday.

Derby got a great win against Sheffield United and they have a massive week to come. After this game they head to Middlesbrough then Chelsea in the Carabao Cup. There should be goals at The Hawthorns and it’s tough to call, but I’m going to tip the Rams to edge it.

Prutton predicts: 2-3 (33/1 with Sky Bet)
