"Devastated" Evra hits out at "catastrophic" Man Utd display in collapse v Spurs

Patrice Evra has slammed Manchester United after they went in at half-time 4-1 down against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

United got off to a dream start when Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty after just a minute when Davinson Sanchez tripped Anthony Martial in the box.

But Spurs were level just minutes later when shambolic United defending allowed Tanguy Ndombele to slam home.

And the visitors took the lead on seven minutes when Son Heung-min latched onto a quick Harry Kane free-kick and coolly finished.

It went from bad to worse for the hosts when Anthony Martial was sent off after aiming an arm in Erik Lamela's face.

Kane then scored from a Son cut-back to put them in total control, and United's misery was complete when Son grabbed another to add to the embarrassment.

Speaking at half-time on Sky Sports Evra couldn't conceal his rage, saying: "Are you seeing this right now?" while slamming his hand on the desk.

"That's why I don't even want to talk about this game because it's a catastrophe what's happening right now.

"My advice to any fan right now is to buy a PlayStation, buy a player like Sancho, even Messi, and start playing. Because it's a disaster.

"You know I've been a player, that's why I don't want to go on about one player, but our defence has been shocking.

"Bailly had the chance to play instead of Lindelof and he made that mistake. So don't cry when you don't play!

"This is so naive. I'm devastated. And I'm a positive person. But right now I understand the pain of all United fans because no one right now in this team deserves to play."

It remains to be seen if Solskjaer makes any changes at half-time, but the game is almost certainly gone for United, and the pressure will now begin to mount on the Norwegian boss.
