Popular sports presenter Emma Louise Jones has taken a cheeky dig at Manchester United from a hotel room near Old Trafford.
Jones is a huge Leeds United fan but ended up staying right next to the home of their bitter rivals this week. The proud Yorkshire lass posted a view from her room after being upgraded, although passionate Leeds supporters would dispute the use of the word ‘upgrade’.
She tweeted: “Woman at the hotel reception told me she’d upgraded my room so I have a better view [crying face emoji].” Many of her 338,000 X (formerly Twitter) followers were quick to offer Jones advice on how to deal with the awkward situation.

One suggested: “I hope it’s got black-out curtains.” Another asked: “Got your money back?” A third quipped: “That’s a one star review from me.” A fourth added: “Great to be able to see such an iconic sporting venue [with a picture of the nearby Old Trafford cricket ground].”
Another fan said: “So there’s two ways of looking at this. Either she didn’t recognise you & thought she was doing you a favour or she did & has stitched you up proper. If it’s the second then fair play to her.”

A fifth said: “I rather have the view from the front of the hotel, overlooking the roundabout and the road that leads out of the area.”
Another added: “Hotel reception needs a training course on what a room upgrade is… Go get them Emma.”
A few Manchester United fans were quick to poke fun at Jones and Championship Leeds, with one cruelly pointing out: “It’s the only PL action you’ll ever see this season.”
