England vs Iceland player ratings: Mason Mount and Phil Foden impress in easy Three Lions win

Mason Mount – 8. Doesn’t stay restricted to the centre of the park but offers support and link play in the area, down the channels and even beyond the striker. Nicely taken goal, too.

Bukayo Saka – 6. Missed a good chance to score and was a little lightweight at times down the left.

Phil Foden – 8. Good first touch and movement into space from the Man City man. Provided the assist for the opener, should have scored himself on two other occasions…then did, late on, his first goals at senior international level.

Harry Kane – 7. Excellent link-play, below-average finishing for once. Looked frustrated he has gone through 2020 without a goal for his nation.

Jack Grealish – 7. Started brightly but didn’t have as much of a lasting impact this time. Still showed great footwork, clever vision and exchanges of passes at times.

Tyrone Mings – 6. Played half an hour, mostly untroubled in defence.

Harry Winks – 6. Kept the ball moving but not huge involvement.

Tammy Abraham – 6.  Replaced Kane for 15 minutes but didn’t see a chance fall his way.

Jadon Sancho – 6. Assisted Foden’s first.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles – 6. Just a few minutes as wing-back.
