Spain

Former Real Madrid and Barcelona player Michael Laudrup has turned down the chance to take over from the recently sacked Julen Lopetegui at the Bernabeu. Laudrup’s most recent managerial experience has been spells in charge of Qatari sides Lekhwiya and Al Rayyan. (AS)

Italy

Despite not having a permanent manager, Real Madrid are already planning their transfer moves for the summer of 2019, with Neymar their top attacking target and defenders Matthijs de Ligt of Ajax and Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan being considered. (Calciomercato)

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will look to Serie A for reinforcements when the transfer window reopens in January, with a move for AC Milan winger Suso planned. The 24-year-old Spaniard previously spent three years with Liverpool, making 14 Premier League appearances. (Tuttomercatoweb)

Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has emerged as a target for Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. PSG coach Thomas Tuchel is keen to boost his midfield option in January and he views the Hornets’ star as the ideal man to support Marco Verratti and Adrien Rabiot in the deep midfield roles.
