Fans staggered as BBC The Traitors star spotted in Luton dugout versus Arsenal

Eagle-eyed viewers were stunned after spotting a former TV show star sitting on Luton's bench during their 4-3 defeat to Arsenal.

Declan Rice's 97th-minute winner sealed a dramatic win for the Gunners which moved them temporarily five points clear at the top of the Premier League, but for some fans, the highlight of the day was seeing Amos Ogunkoya, star of the hit BBC show, The Traitors, sitting in the dugout.

Ogunkoya was appointed Luton's club doctor in the summer following their promotion from the Championship, and has been travelling to games all season. But most viewers tuning in to last night's clash at Kenilworth Road had no clue, and had to double take after catching a glimpse of him on camera.

"Amos from The Traitors being Luton’s club doctor has really made my day," another said, "you can see him sitting behind Rob Edwards on the bench. Youngest first-team club doctor in the PL."

"Thought I was seeing things when I saw Amos on the Luton bench. Just Googled it and he's their club doctor! Incredible," said a third. A fourth added: "Luton’s club doctor being Amos from The Traitors has blown my mind."

After completing his Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine he secured a club doctor role at League Two Colchester United, and this summer he qualified to become a specialist GP. He then made the switch to Luton to become the youngest first-team club doctor in the Premier League.

While speaking to the Royal College of General Practitioners, the 31-year-old explained: "I knew [football] was an option, but it became more apparent that it was actually doable and that the path to being with a top team was achievable.

"I think about it like this – there are few doctors in general and few doctors and sports scientists. I was experienced and had further qualifications, and few doctors have experience in football, so once you get those steps in, it becomes more likely. I didn't think I'd be in the Premier League this quickly, but it was always part of the plan."
