Fans are backing Inter Milan to go all the way in the Champions League after the Italian side 's***housed' their past rivals AC Milan.

Lautaro Martinez' second half strike secured a 1-0 win and a 3-0 aggregate victory for the Nerazzurri, who will now be gearing up for their first Champions League final appearance since Jose Mourinho led them to glory 13 years ago.

Back then, Inter were the scrappy underdogs biting and clawing their way to the top and fans on social media think history might be about to repeat itself following their dogged performance against Milan.

"Inter are going to s***house their way past Man City in the final aren't they?" one fan tweeted.

"Got to hand it to Inter. They're happy to win ugly and I'm all for it," another wrote. A third added: "If Inter play like that in the final they could easily steal a cheeky 1-0 win."

Will Inter win the Champions League? Let us know in the comments section below.

Simone Inzaghi's side have kept five clean sheets in six knockout games so far, with their 3-3 draw in the second leg of their quarter-final against Benfica being the only occasion Andre Onana's goal has been breached in the competition in 2023.

They'll face the winner of Manchester City and Real Madrid, who face each other on Wednesday after drawing the first leg 1-1 at the Bernabeu, in the showpiece final in Istanbul next month.

Should City win at the Etihad, they'll be heavy favourites not only to win the Champions League but also to land a historic Treble given that they're one win away from sealing a third-successive Premier League title and are facing Manchester United in the FA Cup final in a couple of weeks.

But if tonight has proved anything it's that Inter are no pushovers, and given Pep Guardiola's tendency to overthink in the Champions League, only a fool would write them off completely.
