Real Madrid are reportedly considering a shock move for former Chelsea forward Timo Werner, and fans think they've gone crazy.
Los Blancos are in the midst of a crisis having lost the likes of Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni to injury in the last few weeks. To remedy the situation, the club are looking to bring in reinforcements in January and are said to be mulling over a loan move for Werner, who is currently at RB Leipzig.
Madrid are short on firepower in attack having lost Karim Benzema to the Saudi Pro League over the summer, and although Bellingham has been netting goals galore this season, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to bring in more of a classic goalscorer to take some of the pressure off the prodigious Englishman.

With that in mind, fans were left baffled at reports the La Liga giants are interested in Werner, who has scored just two goals in 12 games so far this season. One X user wrote: "He fell out of favour at Leipzig but Madrid want him? Eh?"
Another confused fan said: "Timo Werner? Seriously? That's who Madrid want to solve their goal scoring problems?" A third added: "Timo must have one heck of an agent," while a fourth joked: "Werner must be Ancelotti's wife hostage or something lol where's this come from?"
If Werner signed for Real Madrid in January how many goals would he end up scoring for them this season? Let us know in the comments section below.
Werner's Chelsea career never really got off the ground. Hopes were high when he sealed a £47million move to Stamford Bridge after smashing 34 goals for Leipzig in the 2019/20 season, but injury troubles and a series of glaring misses kneecapped his confidence and the goals quickly dried up.
He was replaced as the Blues' first-choice striker following the arrival of Romelu Lukaku in 2021, and although the Belgian's tenure back in west London was even more disastrous than his, Werner was sold the following summer, back to Leipzig.

The German international won't be the only Chelsea flop at the Bernabeu should he join Madrid in January. Kepa Arrizabalaga moved there on loan in August after Thibaut Courtois was ruled out of the campaign with an ACL injury, though Kepa has since joined the fellow ex-Chelsea keeper on the treatment table after suffering adductor injury earlier this month.
