Football fans love Laura Woods calling out fellow radio host’s ‘secret fetish’

Football fans are loving Laura Woods after she called out fellow talkSPORT host Adrian Durham's "secret Arsenal fetish".

Gunners fan Woods had taken exception to Durham's claim on Wednesday that Arsenal are lucky to be top of the Premier League this season. Woods is no stranger to calling out fans and pundits as well as being vocal about her support for the club on social media.

Durham had argued that Mikel Arteta's side have benefited from good fortune this season, including their opponents missing key players when they have met, and exclaimed: "No team deserves this amount of luck! It’s getting ridiculous!"

However, Woods snapped back on Twitter as she responded: "Let’s be honest…you can make a case like this for or against any team in any league in the history of football if you really have a lot of time on your hands and a secret Arsenal fetish."

Her fiery response also included the eyes emoji as she cheekily teased Durham for having an obsession with the Gunners. Fans lapped up Woods' comeback and showed their appreciation, with one replying: "Can't bear him."

Another wrote: "Durham gonna Durham." A third also added: "Having (Gabriel) Jesus injured for months has been really lucky, hey?"

Arteta has been without Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus since the World Cup after he suffered a knee injury during the tournament. Despite not having a concrete return date, the former Manchester City forward is now back in Arsenal training.

Woods and the rest of the fanbase will be hoping he is back in action soon to bolster Arsenal's title charge after they extended their lead at the top of the table on Wednesday.

The 4-0 home win over struggling Everton came in their game in hand over second place City and saw the Gunners move five points clear of the defending champions.

Arsenal are bidding to win the league for the first time since the Invincibles lifted the title 19 years ago and will continue their march towards glory on Saturday as Bournemouth visit the Emirates Stadium.
