Fans are convinced that a Brazilian football game was ‘scripted’ after a bizarre viral video showed a goal notification pop up before the goal was even scored.
Goal notifications can often ruin viewing excitement if you’re watching a game on demand or behind time. We've all got that one friend who just can’t keep quiet about it and takes the edge off the greatest moment in an hour and a half’s viewing.
But a bizarre video showed one fan receiving a notification of a goal whilst watching the game in the stadium, seeing some fans claim the game was ‘scripted’ in a strange moment during Internacional’s 4-3 defeat at home against Coritiba on Sunday.

In what turned out to be an action-packed final ten minutes, possibly thanks to the scriptwriters, Internacional were trailing 3-1 against second to bottom Coritiba. One fan in the stand then took out his phone to reveal a goal notification that the hosts had halved the deficit.
And in an incredible few seconds, the ball landed at the feet of veteran midfielder Bruno Henrique, who whipped a shot from the edge of the box down the middle of the goal. Rousing more suspicion, the Coritiba keeper appeared to drop his hand away from the crossbar, seemingly believing the shot was heading over, but it dropped into the roof of the net.

Fans behind the goal leapt up to celebrate, apart from the fans filming the bizarre incident, who were probably too stunned to comprehend what had happened. However, it wasn’t enough for Internacional to mount a comeback – conceding just minutes later before former West Ham striker Enner Valencia scored a consolation in 90+12.
Football supporters soon reacted to the viral video, seeing even the non-believing conspiracy theorists amongst them scratching their heads. One said on Twitter: “Brazilian football is SCRIPTED”, a second commented: “What did i just watch LOL”.
A third comment joked: “His match was lagging”, whilst a fourth quipped about his phone reception, saying: “Either that or he has banging 5G signal.”
