The abandoned non-league clash which Buxton were leading away at Scunthorpe in the 96th minute will be replayed in full.
There was major confusion at Glanford Park on Saturday (September 9) when the referee called off the National League North fixture deep into second half stoppage-time.
A torrential downpour had left the pitch waterlogged and the surface was deemed unplayable for the final four minutes of the match. Both teams thought the ref had blown the full-time whistle until he quickly disappeared down the tunnel and it became apparent that wasn't the case.
Despite being down to 10 men, Buxton were 2-1 up on their travels – but they'll now have to start from scratch in a rearranged fixture. A statement from the league read: "It has been determined that the fixture will be rescheduled in full.

"The matter was considered thoroughly, with the outcome decided in line with National League regulations and previous occurrences of this nature. A new date for the game will be announced by the clubs in due course."
Buxton supporters were understandably furious with the decision, with one responding: "What an utter disgrace. Starting to hate football. Whoever made this decision should be ashamed with themselves."
A second fumed: "I’d like them to release of full list of all the ‘previous occurrences’ of a 96th minute abandonment that have been rescheduled [laughing emoji]. Ludicrous."

"Ridiculous decision bowed to the pressure from the so-called big boys. I'd be embarrassed if I was a Scunthorpe fan. Disgusting," commented a third, while a fourth argued: "Refuse to play lads. That's corrupt."
Even rivals supporters sympathised, with one replying: "I'm not a fan of either club but that is absolutely ridiculous." Another echoed: "That is a shocking decision!!! And made worse by the fact that a Buxton player was sent off and yet that still stands!! Joke!"
To make matters worse for Buxton, the 10 minutes of stoppage time was in part as a result of objects allegedly being thrown at their goalkeeper, according to boss Craig Elliott.
Scunthorpe manager Jimmy Dean claimed "all hell broke loose in the tunnel" after the referee's controversial call. The Iron have fallen down the football pyramid in recent years due to a whole host of backroom issues, with HMRC serving them with a winding-up petition in March.
