A furious Trabzonspor fan attacked his own laptop after another abysmal display by referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz in the Europa Conference League.
Turkish side Trabzonspor crashed out of the European competition after a 2-0 defeat (2-1 aggregate) to FC Basel. And it was in no small part thanks to the controversial Lahoz.
The Spanish referee, who is set to retire at the end of the season after coming under intense scrutiny for his poor decisions in recent months, went full-Lahoz by stealing the limelight for himself.

He ruled out two of the away side’s goals, one of which came in stoppage time. The 45-year-old also failed to award Trabzonspor a penalty, as well as missing a clear red card for Basel.
And it was simply too much to handle for one Turkish fan, who went viral on Twitter after raging at the referee. The man, watching the game from home, showed Lahoz exactly what he thought of his display by wildly punching the official on his own Dell laptop screen.
The laptop somehow took the full force of his punishment without breaking into smithereens, but it was far from the first time Lahoz has left football fans seething.

His handling of the World Cup quarter-final clash between Argentina and the Netherlands in December drew widespread criticism. Lahoz lost his grip on the game and brandished a mind-bending 18 yellow cards and two reds.
He infamously ‘fanboyed’ over Lionel Messi by refusing to book the maestro after a clear handball – seemingly purely because he was Messi. And having been slated by players from both sides in the aftermath, he followed it up by showing another 15 yellow cards in the Catalan Derby that same month which saw him removed from the next round of La Liga fixtures.
It appears all of the backlash has pushed Lahoz into an early retirement, according to reports in January that he would be hanging up his whistle. And there are bound to be fans around the world rejoicing at his decision.
