Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, has confirmed they are in talks about a sensational return to Tottenham this summer. Bale has endured a frustrating past few years at Real Madrid, despite enjoying good success in the Spanish capital.
He has not been favoured by Zinedine Zidane and came close to leaving Real last summer before the La Liga side blocked the transfer to the Chinese Super League.
But his desire to leave Real hasn’t changed and he admitted in an interview earlier this month that he would consider a return to the Premier League.
“If those options arise (interest from Premier League clubs) it is something I’d look at for sure,” he told Sky Sports.
“We’ll see what happens, we have plenty of time in this transfer window and a couple of others as well. Time will tell but mainly I think the reason is that the decision is in Real Madrid’s hands.”

That prompted strong interest from both Tottenham and Manchester United.
The Red Devils are looking at alternative options should they fail to lure Jadon Sancho away from Borussia Dortmund.
But it appears as though Tottenham have moved ahead of United in the race to sign Bale with Barnett stating he wants to return to north London.
“Gareth still loves Spurs,” Barnett told BBC Sport Wales.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho identifies transfer target who wants move
“We are talking [Spurs, Real and Bale’s camp].
“It’s where he wants to be.”
It remains to be seen whether it would be a loan or permanent move, but reports have suggested it will likely be the former.
United look set to also miss out on Sergio Reguilon to Spurs with The Athletic reporting Tottenham are close to agreeing a deal with Real Madrid.
The 23-year-old was offered to United at a reported price of £20m, but they’ve been reluctant to agree to a buy-back clause.
It’s not clear whether Tottenham’s talks have progressed because they’re willing to accept those terms or not.
And Tottenham’s summer transfer business may not stop there with Mourinho confirming the club are working on signing a striker as back up to Harry Kane.
Alexander Sorloth and Wout Weghorst have been touted as possible targets along with Bas Dost.
