LGBTQ+ activist concerned by potential Qatari takeover of Man Utd
Manchester United are planning the biggest ‘market assault’ in football history when the transfer window reopens this summer, according to reports. It’s claimed the Glazers are ready to spend a minimum of £434million on fresh faces, with five players being eyed. And Sheikh Jassim has been informed of that masterplan as he looks to purchase the club.
According to El Pais, the Glazers are prepared to spend big at United – even if a takeover falls through.
A source close to the Qatari bid confirms they’ve informed, with a representative for Sheikh Jassim quoted as saying: “United gave us the list of players they wanted to sign.”
The Red Devils are, it’s claimed, looking to strengthen five areas of their squad as they look to win the Premier League title next season.
They want a new striker, with Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic being eyed amid their fine displays for Tottenham, Napoli and Juventus respectively.
Another midfielder is being sought, too, with Frenkie de Jong, Adrien Rabiot and Alexis Mac Allister earmarked as targets.
Man Utd transfers: Ten Hag wants another Pogba and it makes sense
Despite the impressive performances of Marcus Rashford this term, Erik ten Hag is supposedly keen on bringing in a new left winger.
Kingsley Coman, who is believed to have admirers within the Sheikh Jassim camp, is back in United’s sights having previously been pursued by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2020.
And Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has soured to prominence over the past year, with United eyeing the Napoli star following his mesmeric performances in Serie A.
Lastly, United also want two new defenders.
It’s said they plan to sign Ronaldo Araujo from Barcelona if he’s unable to sign a new deal at the Nou Camp.

The Uruguay international agreed the framework of a new contract last month but, fast-forward to now, and nothing has been signed.
And the report backs up claims from Italy that United are eager to secure the signature of Kim Min-jae, with the South Korea international set to provide competition for Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane next term.
The Glazers ‘don’t want any middle class’ players.
Instead they want superstars like Paul Pogba, who made a blockbuster move to Old Trafford back in the summer transfer window of 2016.
The Glazers apparently deem big investments in the likes of Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial as ‘lost money’.

However, while Sheikh Jassim is happy for that idea to proceed, there’s still no guarantee he’ll win the race for the club.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe remains a rival and hopes his flexibility in negotiations can swing the takeover pendulum in his direction.
And the Glazers are still insisting they won’t walk away without a fight, with the Americans wanting a fee close to £6billion in order to walk away.
Meanwhile, speaking recently, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor opened up on the United takeover process.
And he called on the Glazers to ‘go back to America’, while also expressing concerns over the Red Devils should they end up retaining power.
“I do feel sorry for Man United, I feel their pain,” he said. “I do mock them sometimes about wanting the Glazers out, but when you hear about what’s going on behind the scenes – the fans must be pulling their hair out.
“It’s time for the Glazers to go back to America, let new owners come in and help them compete again.
“Man United aren’t far away. They’re three or four players away from competing for a league title.
“If the Glazers stay in, then you can’t see that kind of investment coming.
“I think they’re playing with fire and I can see a lot of backlash from the fans if they stay at the club.”
