Greenwood targeted by ‘die’ chants during Getafe debut after leaving Man Utd

Mason Greenwood made his return to football on Sunday afternoon – and he was targeted with 'die' chants from Osasuna fans.

Greenwood last played a competitive match in January 2022, before he was suspended by Manchester United after being arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, assault and coercive control. He denied the charges, which were dropped in February.

However, following an internal investigation, it was decided Greenwood would not play for United again, leading to his loan move to Getafe on Transfer Deadline Day.

Greenwood was introduced with the scoreline finely balanced at 2-2 after hosts Getafe had found themselves ahead twice in the game – only to be pegged back by Osasuna.
