Haaland facing FA charge for furious actions during Man City’s draw at Tottenham

Erling Haaland faces an FA charge after blasting referee Simon Hooper following Manchester City's six goal thriller with Tottenham at the Etihad.

Haaland was seething after Hooper blew up for a foul on him in added time – despite Jack Grealish being clean through on goal. Hooper had initially waved play on, but changed his mind to leave Haaland and his team-mates stunned.

Hooper was surrounded at the final whistle, before Haaland stormed down the tunnel having been booked for protesting. The Norwegian took to social media to post the message 'WTF', which is sure to land him with a misconduct charge.

‌Guardiola refused to blast Hooper, but admitted the decision saw him lose his mind on the touchline. The Spaniard said: "I don't want to criticise them (officials). On the touchline sometimes I lose my mind.

‌"It's hard when you review the image, the referee decides to blow the whistle after he has already said to play on. I do not understand this action. It's a pity. Sometimes football is like life, you do not get what you deserve.

"Even the referee – if he played for City today he would be disappointed for that action, that’s for sure." City have now failed to win three successive Premier League games, despite leading in all of them, for the first time since 2009.

Tottenham salvaged a point thanks to Dejan Kulusevski's 90th minute equaliser to make it 3-3. Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou admitted Hooper's decision had seen his side escape a possible defeat.

But he praised the character of his players and said: "We were lucky to be in it by half-time. City could have blown us away in that period. "City are an unbelievable team and there are times where you just have to hang on, like we did.

"We stuck to our guns and our beliefs, and got our reward for that, which is great for the lads."
